What We Do With This Information

Cookies

Dennis Kunkel Microscopy, Inc. (as well as most sites on the Internet) uses "cookies" to assist your activities on this web site. A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, which is sent to your browser from a web site's computers. We create a browser session-only cookie for your current web session to keep track of light box selections or customer logins. A cookie is placed on your computer that informs us that your computer has come to this site previously. You may delete this cookie at any time. We cannot use these cookies to personally identify you in any way. Personal information is only available from logging in to our site to use the light box or the shopping area.

Information while Browsing

While using our light box or shopping area, a session-only cookie ID is created and tracks movements. Your IP address is stored for authentication and verification. This is standard in all on-line applications that need to keep track of your personal selections. Unless you register for a light box, ask for a price quote, or purchase a product, your personal selections will be lost within 20 minutes of leaving our site, as these session-only cookies will "time out" and your selections will disappear.

Information while Shopping

While shopping on our online store, another session ID is created and tracks movements. Your IP address is stored for authentication and verification. This is standard in all shopping cart programs. When you complete an order form in our shopping area, your information is written to a secure file. If you create a personal account for shopping, your information and your password are protected. Your credit card information for payment is requested via SSL, an encrypted transaction method, and is stored in a different secure file than your contact information. Your credit card number is removed from the server when the transaction is complete.

Storage of Information

When you complete a registration form in our light box application, your information is written to a secure file on our server. You can use this information yourself to retrieve light box selections you have previously kept, by logging into your saved light box. You may alter contact information as well.

When you complete an order form in our shopping area, your information is written to a secure file. You may also alter your contact information for a new order by typing in your email address and password. Your credit card information for payment is requested via SSL, an encrypted transaction method, and is stored in a different secure file than your contact information. Credit card information is always encrypted while on our site. Your credit card number is removed from the server when the transaction is complete.

Transfer of Information to Third Parties

At the conclusion of your light box quote request, or your shopping session, your name, address, telephone number and email address, along with your quote or order details are kept on file in order to reference your information and order. If you place an order for one of our products, only your name, address, and the items ordered will be sent to our manufacturer and shipper, no other information leaves Dennis Kunkel Microscopy, Inc. Dennis Kunkel Microscopy, Inc. will not sell or disclose any information to third parties. All information submitted will remain strictly confidential.
